[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hi, I'm Stan. [00:00:02] Speaker B: And I'm Shen. [00:00:03] Speaker A: And each week we bring you the Stan and Shen Show. And each week we talk about fun things through our travels throughout the capital region. We touch on food, we touch on news, try to touch heavily on good news. And Shen's always available with hot takes. [00:00:19] Speaker B: Yeah. So if you could follow along and listen to us every week on DailyGazette.com or on all major streaming platforms, we'd love to have you join us. [00:00:29] Speaker A: So how was yesterday? Or, well, rainy days and Mondays. [00:00:36] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:00:37] Speaker A: Always get me down. [00:00:39] Speaker B: Yeah, I listened to it in the morning. [00:00:42] Speaker A: How fitting. [00:00:43] Speaker B: Yeah, that was. I mean, I did think about that when I saw the one song title, I did think that I was like, well, it is a rainy Monday, so it wasn't. Okay. So I will say this. It's not my style of music per se, necessarily. Especially the Carpenters. The Other one is 5150. It tends to be a little bit more like I'm doing like an upper body day. I might throw on some. Some rock tunes as I threw it. [00:01:09] Speaker A: Out there for you. [00:01:09] Speaker B: Yeah. So that's not bad. I might add a couple of those to. To the playlist. [00:01:13] Speaker A: Nice. [00:01:14] Speaker B: But the Carpenters, I mean, I do agree with you. I think when I age a little, the song might have a little more meaning to me. But. And I. And I said this to you because I didn't want you to feel offended that I didn't necessarily vibe with them as much. But I'm at the age where I really need, like, the songs that you can kind of emotionally belt out even if you can't sing. [00:01:39] Speaker A: That's the Carpenters are there for you. [00:01:42] Speaker B: But it also has to have, like, a funky beat to it. And I just didn't feel like. And that's not the same thing. Cause I brought this up to Miles yesterday and I was like, people don't realize this is a fun, unknown fact about being. Growing up. Whenever my grandma would make us clean the house, and by make us, I mean I would help because I'm her favorite grandchild and I love her so much and so dearly. But when she would ask us to help clean the house, she would always put on the solid golden oldies station. Always. And we'd be singing and cleaning and wiping things down to Brown Eyed Girl. [00:02:17] Speaker A: Yes. [00:02:17] Speaker B: And I would jam it. [00:02:18] Speaker A: Oh, a classic. [00:02:19] Speaker B: Yeah. And so, like, that's not to say that I don't like sort of what would be by my generation standards, like older music. I mean, it's from the 60s. My music taste is all over the place, and I'm one of those people who's very much like if a song. Like the same way I read books. If the first page and the last page don't get me, it's not gonna get me. [00:02:42] Speaker A: Okay. We're just gonna save a whole podcast to why you read to the last page of a book, which I think is sacrilegious. We're gonna bump that out. But good morning, good afternoon, good day to everybody as we just rolled into music, because I wanted to get that one line in about rainy days and Mondays. But it is Tuesday. We're taping a day early. [00:03:04] Speaker B: It is Tuesday. There are no tacos Tuesday. [00:03:07] Speaker A: No tacos. April Fools. Yes. We are doing the podcast, but right now, I'm on top of the world, looking down on creation, and the only explanation I can find. Another Carpenter's reference for you. I'm off top of the world, looking down on creation, and the only explanation I can find. [00:03:29] Speaker B: I got it. I just want to suggest one up. I know I can't sing, but I would also suggest you don't quit your day job. [00:03:37] Speaker A: I crush in the car. [00:03:39] Speaker B: Everyone crushes in the car. Just like everyone can sing in the shower. Okay. [00:03:44] Speaker A: I worry about being in the shower with Rita doing her hair. The hair dryer. And I'm going to hear catch. Well, you know, so we had. We had a good week. So we got a lot of feedback on our albums. [00:03:56] Speaker B: We did. We even got additional feedback as we were in here taping. [00:03:59] Speaker A: As we were in here taping. [00:04:00] Speaker B: I just want to. I want to note that Miles Reed's top four albums are. The first two are not a surprise whatsoever. Correct. If you know anything about our editor, Miles Reed, that man is a Fish fan to the day he dies. And also a huge fan of the Grateful Dead. [00:04:16] Speaker A: Correct. [00:04:16] Speaker B: So it's. I'm not surprised by those. [00:04:18] Speaker A: So we put this out on Facebook and LinkedIn and things like that. We got some great feedback asking people their four song, their four albums. [00:04:25] Speaker B: Cheese Incident. I've never even heard of them. I'm going to have to go look this up just for the name alone. [00:04:31] Speaker A: So we're trying to go through this whole thing about setting this up and then the art of the podcast with Shen. So. So we. We put that out there. We got some great feedback from a lot of our friends, friends of the podcast. Friends, people we know. So that's gonna be a fun list to go through. And then what we're gonna do is we're Gonna talk about our experience with the four albums selected and the two we had to listen to, which we've kind of already done. And then we're gonna take you to John Morris, who is now the author of the Daily Gazette's Pint Sized program, Pint Sized piece, weekly column talking about craft beer in New York State. And then we're going to circle back and go through the list from all of our friends that responded, and then we're going to talk about some good news and go from there. So to recap, top four albums, your Mount Rushmore of music. What are the four albums you would listen to, you always listen to. What are your top four? It took time. It really took time. So I had four. One of them I inserted, as we already talked about, was Carpenter's Gold. It is greatest hits album. It kind of goes against the rules, but it's my rules. So I had Shannon listen to Van Halen, Slash, Van Hagar, because I am a Sammy Hagar fan in regards to his work with Van Halen. And then I also inserted Gold, Carpenter's Gold, because there's so many songs on there that myself, my wife, reader, can relate to. Young people can relate to Shannon as she gets older. When I'm gone, hopefully she'll remember, hear something and remember me. And then I also threw in Bon Jovi, Slippery One Wet, which I think just turned, if I'm not mistaken, 35, because I was on all day for. [00:06:15] Speaker B: The other two albums. Bon Jovi. I would have got down the Bon Jovi. [00:06:19] Speaker A: You should just get down to Bon Jovi. You shouldn't be asked to listen to for that. So Shannon and her evil, maniacal mind. [00:06:27] Speaker B: Gave me evil and maniacal. [00:06:30] Speaker A: You gave me four Taylor Swift albums. There's some. [00:06:33] Speaker B: Did you want me to throw in Adele instead? [00:06:35] Speaker A: Well, this is like. You're like Adele. [00:06:37] Speaker B: You're gonna need wine and a sad night. [00:06:40] Speaker A: Love Adele. Love Adele. [00:06:42] Speaker B: You're gonna get deep in your feelings. [00:06:43] Speaker A: Love Adele. Love Adele. [00:06:44] Speaker B: All right. [00:06:45] Speaker A: Love Adele. [00:06:46] Speaker B: I could have gave you that 19th, though. [00:06:48] Speaker A: But you didn't. [00:06:50] Speaker B: 19'S such a good album. [00:06:51] Speaker A: But you didn't. So Taylor. So. So Taylor gave me four Taylor Swift albums. [00:07:00] Speaker B: I did. [00:07:00] Speaker A: And you gave me midnights. And of course, I only had. I only had, what, six versions to be available to me to listen to. [00:07:07] Speaker B: That's true. Well, because apparently she woke up at midnight, had an out, had an album in mind, and was up at 3am and it was up at like 6am I listen, I can't. If the music comes Let it go. [00:07:19] Speaker A: Like, I mean, so we had midnights. So I listened to that Saturday with the bride. [00:07:25] Speaker B: Yep. I know. [00:07:26] Speaker A: We listened to the at dawn edition. [00:07:29] Speaker B: Yes, that. That was. That's like the 6am version and then Sunday. And I just want to know. Hold on. I'm pulling up receipts right now. [00:07:38] Speaker A: Reputation. [00:07:39] Speaker B: Yeah, but I'm pulling up receipts about. [00:07:40] Speaker A: You want to pull up the receipt about me texting you about Reputation and you replying 12 hours later. You almost got a phone call when I didn't get a reply. [00:07:49] Speaker B: Well, you didn't put it in the group chat. That's why. Okay. I love Rita. Okay. I loved the song Lavender Haze. Yep. And then also thumbs up and like the Jesus hands. That's what I call them. The Jesus hands. The praying hands for Anti Hero, which is so good. To which I've replied with a bunch of tiktoks of dogs going, hi, it's the problem. Hi, I'm the problem. It's me. You guys didn't laugh at any of those. [00:08:18] Speaker A: She was on the group text. I was driving. So let's go over midnights. So Midnights. Lavender Haze, a favorite of Rita. Anti Hero. Huge fan of. Loved Karma. [00:08:28] Speaker B: Karma is such a good song. She's got to watch the video from. I saw it from the. [00:08:34] Speaker A: I was watching that. Here's the crazy thing about this. What amazed me was again, we were driving. So I was playing this on YouTube. [00:08:42] Speaker B: Was it. Hold on. Before we get into this. Was it better than you thought it was going to be? [00:08:47] Speaker A: If he could finish a sentence. So midnights to me. So let me get the good thing out of here. I was baffled, mind blown. When you look at YouTube. And I was playing the album through YouTube as we were driving. Yes, we had commercials, blah, blah, blah. But just seeing the number of views, like, I'd say to Rita, like, oh, this has got 19 million. We'll see how this one does. And I think one of them. I can't remember if it was Anti Hero. What it was. Something was like 1.6 billion views. I'm like, oh. I mean, that shocked me. I mean. And again, this is that this is one. One venue. This is one platform. This isn't Spotify. This isn't a combined number. [00:09:32] Speaker B: Why? So some of the songs have music videos and in them she leaves. And like, I. There is. And I mean, you can argue all day long about this, but there is no other artist who does this particular thing, leaves little clues about other albums they're going to make or past songs in their music. Videos like Little Hidden Treasures the way she does. [00:10:01] Speaker A: She has done that. I don't say. I don't want to say that she's the only one, because she's not the only one. Because of the library videos that are out there. [00:10:09] Speaker B: I don't feel like there's another artist who, like, has, like, the. [00:10:13] Speaker A: She's mastering it. [00:10:14] Speaker B: Yes. That's why she has a song called Mastermind, because she knows that we catch on to these little. [00:10:21] Speaker A: We catch on these little. I did not catch on. Well, we, the Swifties, catch on the. [00:10:27] Speaker B: Rest of the Swifties. And you can go down the rabbit hole of theories. And now we've gotten to a point where we're all just clowning around about when Reputation. The Taylor's version is gonna be a. [00:10:36] Speaker A: Topic today at breakfast. [00:10:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:10:38] Speaker A: With the guy with the goddaughter. [00:10:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Because Evan knows if we're waiting. [00:10:42] Speaker A: She's. She was hoping it would happen at the Super Bowl. [00:10:44] Speaker B: This will tell you how much of a mastermind she is when the whole controversy went down regarding her albums, and she was like, well, I'm just gonna follow what Kelly Collection said. I'm just gonna do my own version of them. We did not expect that until the very end when she started releasing them. The only two albums left for her to take back are her reputation and her name. What a mastermind. [00:11:08] Speaker A: So speaking of reputation. Great segue. Thank you, pal. You're welcome. Ready for it. Right off the rip. This is something different. So here's the whole thing. So again, we listen to Midnights. Take a breath. [00:11:22] Speaker B: I can just picture her walking to a. [00:11:24] Speaker A: So take a breath right now. Take a breath right now and be ready for this. [00:11:28] Speaker B: Don't hurt my feelings. [00:11:31] Speaker A: Midnight's very Taylor Swift. [00:11:35] Speaker B: Yes. [00:11:35] Speaker A: Okay. [00:11:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:36] Speaker A: Just so you know. So that's where that was. That's where that landed. Very Taylor Swift. So when we went into Reputation, which. Kudos to you for giving them to me in that order. [00:11:46] Speaker B: Yeah. Reputation. [00:11:47] Speaker A: So good right off the rip. Rita was thrilled. Cause it was so right off. It was not the Taylor Swift experience that we have become accustomed to or stereotyped as. [00:11:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:57] Speaker A: So ready for it. Right off the rip. Loved it. Endgame with Ed Sheeran in future. [00:12:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:12:02] Speaker A: Omg. [00:12:02] Speaker B: Well, there's a whole reason for omg. I mean, if you know the backstory to the. [00:12:06] Speaker A: I don't care about the backstory. I'm listening to music. Don't give me the drama. Don't give me the. [00:12:09] Speaker B: That's what makes the music good. [00:12:11] Speaker A: No, the music makes the Music good? [00:12:13] Speaker B: Well, yes, but there's always the story to it. That's why. [00:12:16] Speaker A: Look what you made me do. Yeah, Love that. [00:12:18] Speaker B: Look what you made me do. [00:12:19] Speaker A: Getaway car. I love that, too. [00:12:21] Speaker B: Phenomenal. [00:12:22] Speaker A: So. And the other thing was on the. [00:12:24] Speaker B: Video, it's not the final one on there where you're just like. It's not my favorite, but I love it. [00:12:29] Speaker A: I gave you four. [00:12:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:12:30] Speaker A: I don't have a favorite out of it, but these are things that like. [00:12:32] Speaker B: So. [00:12:32] Speaker A: Yes. Like. Like I would listen to Reputation again. I will play Reputation in the car. Some of the videos. I don't know if it was anti Hero or what it was, but the one where she's playing, like, the Cinderella character. And I. I loved. I loved. I liked the comedy that Taylor Swift has about herself and the role she's playing, and she embraces her character as a person, as a performer, things like that. Because the whole thing with the Cinderella thing, it's like, make sure you do that swiftly. And she's like, ha, ha, ha. Like, I haven't heard that a million times. Yeah, still funny. So things like that. And then some of her. [00:13:09] Speaker B: Oh, wait, did you watch what you made me do then? [00:13:11] Speaker A: Yes. [00:13:12] Speaker B: Music video. [00:13:12] Speaker A: Yes. So. [00:13:13] Speaker B: And all the different tailors. [00:13:15] Speaker A: Yes. All the different looks and things like that. I greatly appreciated. [00:13:18] Speaker B: The old Taylor can't come to the phone right now. Why? She's dead. [00:13:22] Speaker A: Yeah. That was some crazy stuff. So a lot of that. For those of us that are not 28, this is a lot of throwback to Madonna coming out and being that person and bringing video back to life and being part of the MTV before it got destroyed, you know, Time. So we're gonna take a break from music because I need a drink. [00:13:42] Speaker B: Okay. [00:13:43] Speaker A: So we're gonna lead into bringing on our friend John Norris from the Daily Gazette. So stay tuned for that. All right. And we're back. So I turn this off as we transition after. After everything. And now we're going to start drinking. I mean, we're going to talk about drinking. We're going to talk about drinking. And as I've said before, and I always will say, if you can't have your friends on a podcast, why the hell have a podcast? So we have. We're lucky enough. [00:14:15] Speaker B: I haven't actually said that at all once during this podcast. [00:14:18] Speaker A: I say it all the time when I'm out with people, inviting them on the podcast. [00:14:23] Speaker B: Who are these people? Your friends? [00:14:26] Speaker A: They're paid the unpaid guest. But today we have John Norris, our senior digital multimedia advertising consultant. How do you fit that on a card? [00:14:36] Speaker C: Small type. [00:14:37] Speaker A: Holy mackerel. And so John joined us the Daily Gazette family newspapers in 2019 and a BA poli sci major, taught a course at Empire State in 2018 as Paula for his resume. It's on his LinkedIn profile. [00:14:57] Speaker C: Okay. [00:14:59] Speaker A: And in 2015 he is also an award winning person in our building as he was. He was awarded for the top 10 digital media consultants nationally with Hearst Media. So congratulations on that. [00:15:15] Speaker C: Thank you very much. [00:15:16] Speaker A: And their loss is our gain. [00:15:18] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:15:19] Speaker A: As not only John being out there promoting the flag, the Daily Gazette family newspapers, he is now, now he is the author of our weekly look at craft brewing across the capital region called Pint Sized, which again came out of the success of our own Indiana Nash, who's been friend of the podcast. Been on the podcast. Her bite sized items, huge ratings, huge reads. And John was at the. You made it to the brewery. It was great. [00:15:49] Speaker C: Yes. [00:15:49] Speaker A: And you were there. And April 11, that was kind of. You kind of have breaking news that Kathy Hokel, governor was there saying yes, April 11th is now going to be New York State Craft Brew Day. Yep. Which is kind of nice. And coming up shortly. That's why we had John here. [00:16:05] Speaker B: So where are you going for it? [00:16:08] Speaker C: Haven't found that. I know that there's a taste of Schenectady. [00:16:13] Speaker B: Oh, drinks Connectity Drinks connected. [00:16:15] Speaker C: Yes. No, no. More tastes drinks at the end of my side. I'm going to that they. [00:16:19] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. [00:16:20] Speaker C: They're nice enough to send me an invitation to this. [00:16:22] Speaker B: Oh, that's awesome. [00:16:22] Speaker C: I got a plus one invite so you guys can fight that out. [00:16:26] Speaker A: I'm going out of sign. [00:16:27] Speaker B: I don't drink craft beer, but I don't drink beer at all. But okay, I appreciate people who do. [00:16:35] Speaker C: That's fair. It's. I mean it's quite a. [00:16:37] Speaker B: If you got craft whiskey, I'll be there. [00:16:40] Speaker C: You know they're about to do that. Someone's doing that up in Ballston Spot. [00:16:44] Speaker B: Yes, yes. [00:16:44] Speaker A: Speckled Pig. [00:16:45] Speaker B: Speckled Pig friends over at Speckled Pig. [00:16:48] Speaker C: Yes. And I guess you'll be better friends as soon as they get their whiskey up and on online. [00:16:55] Speaker A: That'll be great. So what was the creation, what was lightning in a bottle, so to speak, for pint size? Was that your thought and creation to the gang, Miles and Andrew, or did they come to you? [00:17:10] Speaker C: I remember I've talked to Miles a couple times about Miles and I talked because he's kind of a beer snob as well. And we talked A couple times about the time that. Cause he, you know, he was born in. He was born in London, England. I spent a semester there. [00:17:26] Speaker B: This is a fun fact I only just discovered, like, a month and a half ago, really. Now I'm begging him to take me with him when he leaves this country. [00:17:33] Speaker A: We all are. We all are. Please send donations stanmail.com. we may be doing a GoFundMe. Send Chez London. [00:17:44] Speaker C: It's true. [00:17:44] Speaker A: Send to London. [00:17:46] Speaker C: So he and I had talked about different kinds of beers that we. That we were familiar with, the British beers and the history of ipa. The fact that India Pale Ale is named after the India dock in East London. India Dock is where the ships that would go to India when they were colonizing it in the 1800s, they would go from the India Dock. And IPAs were India Pale ales. They had a whole lot of preservatives put in there. And what they used for preservatives was hops, strong hops. Preserve the beer. So he and I talked about that a little bit, and then he. And then kind of came up. I'd done a few music reviews. He liked my writing style, I guess, and we kind of kicked it around. Like, hey, what a what? Like, yes, I like music, but I also like beer. So I can cover both. And you'll pay me to drink? [00:18:46] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that's right. You do Nippertown stuff. [00:18:48] Speaker C: Yes, a little. Yeah. Yeah, I've got a few of those out there, too. But, yeah, so. But yeah, I'm being paid to drink. [00:18:56] Speaker B: I don't say that on the air. [00:18:58] Speaker C: But not. [00:18:59] Speaker B: We can't offer that job to everybody. [00:19:01] Speaker C: Exactly. Believe me, I've had people say to me, are you serious, John? They're actually not allowed to get drunk? No. [00:19:10] Speaker A: Well, it's sampling, no lime tasting. [00:19:12] Speaker B: You swirl it, you smell it. [00:19:13] Speaker C: Exactly. And then spit. [00:19:16] Speaker A: It's horrible. So. [00:19:18] Speaker C: So then he asked me to do it. I did a few, and I think I've got. I think I got seven or eight in the cans so far. So we've only pick and choose what places you're going to go to, really. Places. The places that kind of overlap where our coverage areas are certainly the Mohawk Valley, close to where we are here. North. North, maybe as far as Glens Falls, south down to Hudson and Catskill, that area there. And certainly it's Kathy and Saratoga. Not yet. I dropped my card off there right before their opening, and then. But no, I've not been there yet. [00:20:03] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:03] Speaker C: But I'm kind of holding off on that because it's like, oh, it's like, oh, God. It's like it's going to be. It's going to be like the Walmart. A really good beer. It's really good and we've perfected it. And I could be speaking completely out of turn because everybody seemed to love it, but it's like they're like the. They're like the Yankees version, the Yankees of beer. [00:20:26] Speaker A: Like, and then there's a chain, in a sense, couple locations and things like that. I mean, I think of one of the brewers, like, that was recognized, you know, you know, a couple weeks ago. You know, if they expand, it'd be a second location, Right. That would be an expansion for them. Whereas tree houses, big plans and things like that. [00:20:46] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:20:47] Speaker A: What. What do you like in a beer? What. What kind of beer do you like and what do you like in a beer? [00:20:51] Speaker C: Good question. I like IPAs. They're really great. I think they just be any like the. The New England IPAs, the West Coast IPAs, those Citra hops, I like those a lot. That's always my favorite. Those were like the. The first beers I brewed myself because, you know, when I came back from studying overseas, I found out there was. There was. There was a local. There was a local brew. [00:21:22] Speaker A: The brewing. [00:21:22] Speaker C: Brew store. Yeah. Brewing pornware. Yeah, something like that. So I went there and talked to the guy, bought a bunch of stuff, and I was amazed that I could make a pretty decent. Pretty decent, actually as good as a clone of these West Coast IPAs. And, yeah, I think ever since then, it's kind of stuck with me. [00:21:40] Speaker A: Gotcha. Were you surprised? That judging contest, you know, I play it back on YouTube and I just fast forward through the award winners, you know, to go through the list of who in the 518 basically is who we're looking at. Who won? How did you come away from it? Because this is my second time, in a sense, covering it, writing it. What was your takeaway from being in the room? Right. And again, I think, you know, 500 brewers in New York state, right. You know, 1300 entries, things like that. [00:22:13] Speaker C: Crazy. [00:22:13] Speaker A: So you. So you see some new names again? I have to look up a lot of them because I'm not familiar with them, and look at what town they're in and what town is that county and things like that. So what's your takeaway? When you see the end results from 30 some odd categories, I was. [00:22:27] Speaker C: I was amazed that the. So there were 32 categories that if you asked me to write down A list of all the categories of beer that there are, I'd have never come up with. I might have had seven or eight on a good day. But it was. That was interesting, the fact that just the level of detail that the judges go through. Go drill down. Looking at the various aspects of the beers and how they classify them. Just. Again, the biggest thing was the surprise at how many legitimate categories there were. [00:23:09] Speaker A: Wayward, you know, not only had a viewing party, but they also tied for brewery of the year out of Schoharie. So there's the old adage, like, New York City's pizza is better because of the water. I mean, is that the case down in Schoharie, or what? I mean, this is. These guys are heavy hitters in your state. Craft beer. So have you been to Wayward yet or. [00:23:30] Speaker C: No? [00:23:31] Speaker A: That's definitely. [00:23:31] Speaker C: I met the guys there, shook hands. They're excited as heck. I said, you know, gave them my card. I said, let's stay in touch. They gave me their contact slump. They're definitely on the. They're. They're on my. On the radar for me to see in the next couple weeks, for sure. [00:23:44] Speaker A: That was. It was interesting because it was great to see Wayward in there. Druthers, I think 1, 2 and other. Frog Alley, 1 1. Early on. That was early on. So that was a recognizable name. But then all. When I travel and things we've written about all these different breweries and stuff like that. 518, still. I hate to bash downstate, but I am, you know, these Brooklyn breweries and these downstate breweries, and it just seems to be, again, like a sports adage is that, you know, downstate, the number of kids in town. [00:24:16] Speaker C: Right, right. [00:24:16] Speaker A: And the same thing out Western Buffalo and Rochester, they really seem to dominate. Even central New York didn't get that strong of a representation. Do you think that's just. It's supposed to be blind judging. There's 75 judges because 1500 beers, everybody's gonna be schnockered. So, you know, you have to kind of. Schnockard is a new word for you. Blasted. So their palate would be burned out. So that's why they go to that. But any thoughts on that? Downstate, out west, 518, kind of think. [00:24:49] Speaker C: About, like, the thing that they. The reason they claim that New York City has the best bagels is because of the water. Water that comes from, I guess, around there. It's water. But think about the ingredients that are in bagels. They're pretty much the same Ingredients that are in beer. You know, there's grain, yeast, a little bit of sugar. Or priming. [00:25:15] Speaker B: Telling us the brewery could also make bagels. [00:25:18] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:25:19] Speaker A: Bagels and brew. [00:25:22] Speaker C: There it is. [00:25:23] Speaker A: What's up? [00:25:24] Speaker C: There we go. [00:25:24] Speaker B: I'm. [00:25:25] Speaker C: I'm gonna go lock down. I'm gonna lock down that URL. Get. [00:25:29] Speaker B: Yeah, Babies and bruise. No, that podcast we will tape live as you. [00:25:35] Speaker A: Yeah, as you eat. [00:25:36] Speaker C: While you're like flipping the bagels and the big vat of water back there. And then. [00:25:40] Speaker A: Yes. So anybody out there? So the references. This is that we're basically bringing back chatter for those Tony Kornheiser fans is that we'll have bagels and brew with a podcast studio. [00:25:51] Speaker B: I don't get. Because Stan is old. [00:25:54] Speaker A: Yes. [00:25:55] Speaker C: It's sports. It's a sports thing. [00:25:56] Speaker A: Sports thing. It's a sports thing. It's not an old thing. It's a sports thing. All right, but go ahead. So is it water or is it. [00:26:06] Speaker C: Is it the water? I don't know, but there's. Is it the water or is it just the sheer number of breweries that are down there? Possibly as well, but certainly is it the water? But again, the water comes from the Catskills. We're kind of not. We're adjacent to the Catskills water. That should be. Yeah, yeah, that should be in there. And all the beer cans will be that same blue. Yeah, there we go. That's an idea. [00:26:34] Speaker A: Okay, we're putting that on the menu. We're gonna go with that. We're gonna go with that. [00:26:39] Speaker B: I'm sure. [00:26:39] Speaker A: Where they'll give blue bottle water. Yeah. Hey, hey. For free. Use the podcast studio. Who knows what they'll give us. So what's next? You know, is this a weekly thing? Yeah, you got my side coming up, which is gonna be. [00:26:52] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm go to that for sure. You know, and I've been getting emails from people who brew. [00:26:57] Speaker A: Oh, nice. [00:26:58] Speaker C: By people who brew or people who are just aware of beers. I should be talking to. I know. Dancing Grain. I spoke with those folks, Paradox Brewing. I spoke to Paul, the president up there, and they're doing some great things. Actually paradise here. Did you see Paradox Brewing? It's now they're actually. And there are really high quality brew facilities in Glavitin in South Glens Falls Falls. Paradox. They're actually brewing the. What's that special specialty brew for Stewart's. [00:27:37] Speaker A: Oh, the mountain brew. [00:27:38] Speaker C: Mountain Brew. Yeah, they're doing standard stewards. [00:27:40] Speaker A: Mountain. No kidding. Yeah, Done by Paradox. [00:27:42] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:27:43] Speaker A: Very Nice. [00:27:44] Speaker C: That's pretty easy. The paradox is doing that. Then someone else sent me that. Someone said that there's a Kessler Brewing company. Somebody emailed me that recently. I have to try to find them. I think they're located out in our out west up here. [00:27:59] Speaker A: So I'll tell you, how do you find time to do. How do you time. When do you visit? Is this like a Friday afternoon thing? You're like, bob, I gotta go, I gotta go see. [00:28:08] Speaker C: No, I grabbed my girlfriend Mary and we'll go on the weekend. We'll just head out and buzz around. You know, between our target Sam's Club runs for the, you know, for the household stuff. Right? I mean. Ah, yes, there's the credit card again. No. [00:28:29] Speaker A: So. [00:28:29] Speaker C: Yeah, so no, I just, just go on the weekends. We'll go and we'll grab dinner someplace and I'll. And I'll. And as I get there I'll talk to the. When I get there, I'll talk to the. Whoever's in charge. And then these are the really friendly people in this business. I find the people in the brewing community, they're really friendly and proud of what they do and really eager to share the differencia specifica. Like what do they do that makes their brew special or better? I know. Like for instance, up at. There's a beer Whitman Brewing in Saratoga. [00:29:07] Speaker A: Oh yeah. [00:29:07] Speaker C: My. [00:29:07] Speaker A: My old desk. [00:29:08] Speaker C: Oh yeah. When you work there. Yeah. [00:29:10] Speaker A: Saratoga. [00:29:10] Speaker C: Yeah. Well, in that building they've got. It's. It's called. They've got a beer called Dick Murphy Light. Dick Murphy is a relative of one of. One of the owners of the place. And Dick was. Dick Murphy is a, He's a big fan of. He likes like Coors Light or just like, just like real watery, high quality, whatever loggers like that. So they make one called Dick Murphy Light. And they've got a picture of his can hit picture of him. Him. I think he's swinging a golf club. He's. And he's on the, he's on the can. So. But. And they did a, they did a really did a really honest version of it. Tastes a lot like a, like a beer you want in the fridge when you finish mowing the lawn. So. Or two or three of them. [00:29:54] Speaker A: All right, so I'm going to add to your list. [00:29:57] Speaker C: Okay. [00:29:58] Speaker A: It is not a local brewery. [00:29:59] Speaker C: Okay. [00:30:00] Speaker A: It's big in the, in western part. Well, western since in the Ohio area, the Ohio Valley. [00:30:08] Speaker C: Okay. [00:30:09] Speaker A: And we got to get some shipped. [00:30:11] Speaker C: In or I can expense the mileage. [00:30:14] Speaker A: Okay, sounds good. We got it. If we. If we got to go coast to coast this, we will. But it's actually called Hootie Delight. H u D y. [00:30:22] Speaker C: Really? [00:30:23] Speaker A: It is the family brewery, the Huda Pole Brewing Company. Huda Pole. Yep. And when you're out there. When you're out there, who'd have thought? And when you're out there, all you have to do is go to the bar and ask for a Hootie. So if you'd like to ask for a Hootie, just come to the Dan and shen podcast and YouTube to have a Hootie. Or call Rita. She'd be more than happy to give up a Hootie, I'm sure, on several given days, so. [00:30:48] Speaker C: Oh, Blowfish. [00:30:48] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. That's what I say to people like, how do you pronounce the name? I said Hootie, like the blowfish. But if you want to spell it, it's like the beer. H u D Y. Hoodie Delight. [00:30:57] Speaker C: Nice. [00:30:58] Speaker A: So we will have to get some of that in and share. We may have to do a tasting. We'll do a taste. [00:31:04] Speaker C: Can we actually hear the sound? [00:31:05] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Well, we will. We will. Yeah. Well, just. Just for podcast purposes. [00:31:11] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:31:11] Speaker A: We'll bring the gang in. Well, thank you so much. [00:31:14] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:31:14] Speaker A: Thanks for being here. [00:31:15] Speaker C: And folks, if anybody out there wants to let me know of an amazing beer that it's not on my radar yet, feel free to email me@j norrisailygazette.net gazette.net.net Shannon struggles. Really? [00:31:35] Speaker A: She's like esperailygazette.com no, no, hold on. [00:31:40] Speaker B: I never mess with my own. It's the Gazette's website that I mess up. [00:31:44] Speaker C: Yeah. That's a dot com website. Yeah. [00:31:47] Speaker A: So, all right, very good. Thank you so much. [00:31:50] Speaker C: Thank you. Enjoy. [00:31:53] Speaker A: So John was great. John was great. Craft beer. [00:31:57] Speaker B: John's always great, except he gets the better part of the job. [00:32:00] Speaker A: Well, I think, who knows? We may have to do like, shot sized. You're doing some distilleries and have you out there. [00:32:09] Speaker B: Shot size. [00:32:09] Speaker A: We'll have Chad be your designated Chad Arnold, designated driver extraordinaire. [00:32:13] Speaker B: We will, yeah. His resume has already. Already been looked. [00:32:17] Speaker A: It's not his LinkedIn page. [00:32:18] Speaker B: It's solid. But shot size. We're gonna have to work on the name of that throwback. Throwback. [00:32:25] Speaker A: Slammin Slamming with Shen Slammin, which. I actually have an idea. We could take the podcast live and we can. I think we gotta do the podcast with you at the gym. No, do some lifting. Yeah, no, yeah, we're gonna do that. Our first video. So John was like one of the first people to chime in with his four albums. So John's list. So this again, I don't know what the. I don't know what the over under is gonna be on Shen going, I don't know who this is. It's gonna be up there. So John Norris. His list was Blue by John, by Joni Mitchell, kind of Blue by Miles Davis. Dead Set by the Grateful Dead. [00:33:04] Speaker B: That was like a way flip flop there. [00:33:07] Speaker A: And the White Album by the Beatles. [00:33:10] Speaker B: I've probably heard songs on every single one of those albums, but I would not be able to tell you that they're Miles Davis. [00:33:15] Speaker A: I don't think you probably ever listened to Joni Mitchell. Maybe back in the day with Grandma. And I'm just gonna go through this whole list with all these different people just because we want to get through them and thank them. Miles Reed, our editor here at the Daily Gazette. Fish. The oddest named Band of A Picture of Nectar. Grateful Dead Dead set. There's two votes there. A String of Cheese Incident by Weird one. I have a look at these guys by the. And then Mo. No doy. [00:33:44] Speaker B: I think the A String of Cheese Incident is by the band. A String of Cheese. [00:33:48] Speaker A: Yeah, the string. The string of cheese. Yep. The string cheese. There it is. Sports editor Ken. [00:33:53] Speaker B: My favorite band name. [00:33:54] Speaker A: Sports editor Ken Schott. Huge music file. Sergeant Pepper and Abbey Road by the Beatles. [00:34:00] Speaker B: Abby Road's a classic. [00:34:01] Speaker A: Dark side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. That's top 10 guaranteed. Top four was hard. This crushed Rita because she didn't have it in her top four. My wife Rita. Purple Rain by Prince. That is. [00:34:16] Speaker B: That's why it's still considered. [00:34:18] Speaker A: If there's a mineral above platinum. [00:34:24] Speaker B: I could have put Princess. [00:34:26] Speaker A: That might be Purple Rain. [00:34:28] Speaker B: I could take out Taylor. [00:34:29] Speaker A: Sean Ness, the Register star in Daily Mail. He was able to get it into us to Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar, Jar of Flies, Alice in Chains, Blonde by Frank Ocean, and then Overnight Sensation by Frank Zappa. So let's. Again, these are all solid. Rita fell in love with Eden. Stratton's list. Daily Gozette. They cover Fulton County. Eden came in with Volcano by Jungle. All new to me. I've got to look that one up. Some girls, Rolling Stones, Huge surprising at Eden's age that was in there. Then they came out with. And this Rita. [00:35:13] Speaker B: Everybody's got to listen to the Stones once. [00:35:15] Speaker A: Rita fell over because Eden came in with Shout at the Devil by MLE Crew, one of their first albums, and Synchronicity by the Police. [00:35:23] Speaker B: I haven't heard the last one, but MLE Crew, and I'm surprised she listened to, like, the first albums. [00:35:29] Speaker A: So Synchronic. Synchronicity by the Police. Again, beyond platinum as far as that goes. You've heard songs from it. Heather Lopez reached out. The newly elected board of trustee member at the Village of Hageman, who's also very heavily involved. The Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery county, caught up with her Saturday at a Chili cook off at Line Street Bar and Grill. She was kind enough to chime in duality. Lindsey sterling, beyond the Veil, 7 Lindsay, Led Zeppelin, 3 Led Zeppelin, and then Sticky Fingers, Rolling Stone. So that was. That was a great list. Will Springstead, assistant sports editor at the Daily Gazette. Classic lineup Rumors by Fleetwood Mac, Breakfast in America, Supertramp, Graceland, Paul Simon and the Stranger, Billy Joel. Great list. Julie Jolly, friend of the podcast and one of my former writing partners at the Saratogian all those years ago, before she was married and before she became Julie Jolly. [00:36:40] Speaker B: Hold on. How many pages of people you got? [00:36:42] Speaker A: We had some people here. This is good. It's going quick. The Joshua tree, U2, Nirvana unplugged in. [00:36:49] Speaker B: New York, I was waiting for a Nirvana album to come from. [00:36:52] Speaker A: Somebody versus Pearl Jam. [00:36:54] Speaker B: Oh, wow. [00:36:55] Speaker A: Whatever and ever. Amen. Ben Folds Five. So Dan Jolly did not get me his list, but I caught up with him Friday. He said he's gonna have at least two Pearl Jam albums on there for sure. [00:37:07] Speaker B: Sam Clifford, I am actually, I am a Pearl Jam fan. I will. I will tell everybody that right now. You will probably see a live on my gym playlist multiple times during a workout session. [00:37:21] Speaker A: So here we go. Sam Clifford, our friend, co owner of the New York Phoenix. [00:37:25] Speaker B: I. I know what way you might sway. [00:37:27] Speaker A: Okay, here we go. Ready? [00:37:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:29] Speaker A: DMB Central Park. Dave Matthews Band. [00:37:32] Speaker B: Yep. [00:37:33] Speaker A: Synchronicity, the Police. Classic Black Metallica. [00:37:39] Speaker B: I. Yeah, yeah. [00:37:41] Speaker A: And 5150 Van Halen. My man. [00:37:45] Speaker B: You were excited about that one. [00:37:47] Speaker A: My man. Adam Schinder, friend of the podcast. Promoted to friend of the podcast after leaving the Daily Gazette. Great list. Great list for a younger person. Older than you. Much younger than me. Rumors, Fleetwood Mac, Dark side of the Moon, Pink Floyd. He was the only one who had Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen on his top four. [00:38:09] Speaker B: I'm surprised we didn't have more Bruce Springsteen. [00:38:11] Speaker A: I'm surprised that. And then he came in with Goodbye Yellow Brick Road with Elton John, which I appreciate so much. So here's our. [00:38:18] Speaker B: I will say he had under. He had very, like, not like, ones that I just feel like should have been. And they're probably in people's top tens. Like, everyone loves a good Elton John album. [00:38:28] Speaker A: Oh, absolutely. So here's our top two people. Okay. Amira. Dj. [00:38:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Which let me pre. Let me pre note this by saying that this may change by next week. [00:38:40] Speaker A: This could change by the time we get out of here. [00:38:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:43] Speaker A: Hole. Live through this. Live through this. I can't remember when the pawn. Fiona Apple kids. Mac Miller. [00:38:57] Speaker B: Oh, man, I forgot about that album. [00:38:59] Speaker A: And ready? [00:39:01] Speaker B: Mac Miller. May he rest in peace. [00:39:03] Speaker A: Graduation. Kanye West. [00:39:06] Speaker B: Yes. But let's. Okay. I will have to say before, you know, things happen with Kanye that we won't talk about because it's a mess. [00:39:14] Speaker A: This is pre drop. [00:39:15] Speaker B: That was old school. Kanye is just banging so good. It's. I was so, so good. I can even picture that album in my head. Like, that album, like, cover. Like, I can. Like the first couple. They were just. [00:39:32] Speaker A: Okay, so we've listed the rest. Now let's list the best. The final word comes from the bride, Rita Hoodie with her list, which changed multiple times because we've been working on this for over a week. Breakfast in America by Supertran Tapestry. Carole King. Never changed. Never changed. Then it rotated back and forth, and she's changing it daily. Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf. Again, just a classic, classic album. And then foreign or four. [00:40:02] Speaker B: See, I feel like the first two are usually the easiest ones because you kind of have. [00:40:06] Speaker A: Yeah, but yeah, she moved out. Panel man by Billy Joel. [00:40:10] Speaker B: Well, I will say Purple Rain was there. Consistently rotates. Everyone always makes it is always Taylor Swift, but it's not. I had to do Taylor Swift because we needed to have that happen. [00:40:19] Speaker A: You had you, but you had trained me. [00:40:22] Speaker B: Yes, but I've said, like Adele, like, you could put 19, 21, 25 anywhere in my top 10. Always consistently in rotation. [00:40:31] Speaker A: So that's. That's the list. That's it. But feel free to continue to send in your top four, because we can touch on this at any time because it does change. So reach out Stan and [email protected]. reach out on our own Facebook pages. [00:40:45] Speaker B: Or your favorite song. I'm always interested in favorite song. [00:40:48] Speaker A: Maybe we'll do, like, towards the Grammys. Maybe we'll do favorite song towards the Grammy. But Wendy, one song. [00:40:53] Speaker B: One song. [00:40:54] Speaker A: Do you want to do, like, a ballad song or just one song? What's your. What's Your go to song. [00:40:59] Speaker B: Yeah, like if you're, you're like your go to song or tell us what your you know what was on your Spotify. Your top song on your Spotify. [00:41:08] Speaker A: We'll do that the end of the year. Yeah, we'll do it at the end of this year. [00:41:10] Speaker B: You're Spotify wrapped. [00:41:11] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll do that if you use Spotify, which I guess I have to now to get that list made. So let's go on. [00:41:17] Speaker B: Apple does one. [00:41:17] Speaker A: All right, good news next week. [00:41:21] Speaker B: Well, let's start with the good news of this week. [00:41:24] Speaker A: It's Tuesday. [00:41:26] Speaker B: The good news is that the Patroons. [00:41:28] Speaker A: And it's on there. [00:41:30] Speaker B: They. Okay. The Phoenix undefeated take on the Patroons, who are defeated by one game and will soon be two on Friday. [00:41:38] Speaker A: So we would say that as the undefeated Phoenix at 70 will face the Albany Patroons at 6 1. Their only loss coming at the Phoenix. [00:41:47] Speaker B: Okay, Friday sports reporter in you is really cutting out. Right. [00:41:51] Speaker A: So that's Friday at 7. This Friday, 7pm so that's on the good news list. Here's the other piece of good news. And we talked about this. We texted about this briefly. The Phoenix dropped 151 points on the Reading Rebels and 151 to 114 win with five players in double figures to remain undefeated. That's insane. Yeah, 151 points. [00:42:11] Speaker B: That nuts. The season that any new team starting. [00:42:15] Speaker A: Out, really, you can't, you can't script this. You can't. [00:42:18] Speaker B: I need a knock on wood after I said they're gonna win on Friday because I don't wanna jinx it and I just need to. I just. [00:42:26] Speaker A: So are you going Friday? [00:42:27] Speaker B: I'm not. [00:42:28] Speaker A: So we've had this conversation. [00:42:31] Speaker B: More than likely not. [00:42:32] Speaker A: If they lose, it's all your fault. Next week, Belmont on Broadway announcement. We will be doing the podcast later in the week. [00:42:41] Speaker B: Yes. [00:42:41] Speaker A: Because we will be ducking out immediately after the announcement and after Shen files her portion of the story. [00:42:49] Speaker B: Well, I'm gonna have two back to back stories that day. [00:42:51] Speaker A: We're doing both. Well, there may be another report at 9:00am But 10:00am is gonna. Yeah, 10:00am Is gonna lead the noon at 6:00 news. [00:42:58] Speaker B: Yeah. So we might be grabbing. Well, it'd be good for us to grab some. Some live. [00:43:02] Speaker A: Yeah, some live. We're gonna do some. We're gonna have. We're gonna do some crazy good stuff next. [00:43:05] Speaker B: Todd doesn't know it, but Todd Shimkas, you're on the podcast. [00:43:08] Speaker A: That's Right. We may have to steal an office to record the podcast on Thursday. So look forward to that as we bring that announcement to you. And we are also part of Good News is once again reaching out to our friends, fans, family and just people. Stewards. Not a sponsor yet, but we will. [00:43:33] Speaker B: Gladly, gladly, very gladly. Especially if I can have a Storz hat, but in the way that I say it. Storts. [00:43:39] Speaker A: Storts. Reach out to John Norris. We don't know who has the account, but if you'd like to just contact the Daily Gazette advertising department like to be a sponsor for the Stan and Shen show. So Stewart's is offering we will drink. [00:43:49] Speaker B: Only Stort's coffee for the podcast. [00:43:51] Speaker A: We would. We would. [00:43:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:52] Speaker A: And we're going to video next week. Well, two weeks. [00:43:54] Speaker B: I didn't know that, but okay. [00:43:56] Speaker A: We are. Just because of your mouth last week and the reaction was so priceless that the world should physically have seen the look on your face and your whole contortion and everything and appreciate your smile behind the voice. [00:44:12] Speaker B: That's great. [00:44:14] Speaker A: And the redness of you. After yesterday's last week's censored verbiage, Storch is offering a flight of ice cream. Three scoops. [00:44:24] Speaker B: I'm really excited about this. [00:44:25] Speaker A: And so now for next week's podcast. What are your. What's in your. Stewart's ice cream flight? [00:44:32] Speaker B: Mine's probably gonna have a lot of chocolate. [00:44:34] Speaker A: There's three of them. [00:44:35] Speaker B: I know it's probably gonna have a lot of chocolate because. Okay, so I will already tell you this. When I do a hand pack pint, I put two flavors in that thing. You didn't know you could do that? Yes. [00:44:47] Speaker A: Oh, dropping knowledge. [00:44:49] Speaker B: Yes. I mean, at least they do it for me. Every place I've. Every store I've ever stopped into has done it. Because I'll be like, I always ask, too. I'm always like, you guys put two flavors in one. That's like the perfect combination. Because then you get to that part where you've already sort of finished that top layer and the top layers melted a little into the second layer. [00:45:08] Speaker A: Do we have to be like, should we call stores and get approval on this? Or is this like, this is like the Shen special? [00:45:13] Speaker B: I don't know. I don't know if they're supposed to do it, but they do it for me and I appreciate it. And if they stop after this, I might. It's going to be hard on me, but I might have to stop buying store with ice cream if they stop Doing that because I will pay the little bit of extra that it is to get a hand packed pint correct. Because if I feel one day that I want both the chocolate peanut butter, but I want like crumbs along a mohawk and I need to have both because it's been an emotional day. I'm getting a impact pie. Like, don't do this to me. [00:45:43] Speaker A: There's like a lot of expertise coming through on this. [00:45:45] Speaker B: I. And I am, I'm becoming well versed in the stored flavors, mainly the chocolates, but I've tried many of flavors. The frozen yogurt there, the raspberry chocolate torte fudge thing. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. [00:46:03] Speaker A: Anyway, and also what we're working on, courtesy of Miles Reed, is do you know how many Pizza Huts there are in New York State? [00:46:10] Speaker B: Well, I know we lost some Pizza huts. [00:46:12] Speaker A: Yeah, there's 170 New York state. [00:46:14] Speaker B: Well, that's. [00:46:15] Speaker A: And there are 12 in the capital region. Six of them have the dining experience still. And Miles wants us to go to a Pizza Hut throwback Pizza Hut and have the experience. [00:46:30] Speaker B: I, you know, I have a vague memory of going to a dine in Pizza Hut and eating a lot of salad. [00:46:37] Speaker A: Okay, so you did have the salad bar experience. That's great. [00:46:39] Speaker B: Yeah, gotta have the salad bar experience. [00:46:40] Speaker A: Now here's my thing. Did you have the picture of soda experience at price at Pizza Hut? I don't remember that. Is that Miles and I missed that. [00:46:50] Speaker B: So much, the pitcher of soda. No, no. Because my favorite thing is those soda machines that they have now where you can pick like the diet, but you can get like the dietary vanilla that you never get anywhere else. I need one of those machines in the office. [00:47:04] Speaker A: Yeah, there was a time that. So there was a time that you could get pictures of soda at Pizza Hut. And it was a huge dining experience then. And I think you're seeing this on TikTok. The red cups, the red. And I think they might say Coca Cola. I don't know if we're getting in trouble for that or not. But the red plastic cups, that was a Pizza Hut staple. And that's what you're seeing on Tik Tok now is a rage. So we may have an outing, tour stewards with some old guys, myself and Miles Read is all in. [00:47:32] Speaker B: Oh, okay. [00:47:33] Speaker A: Devin, we talked about today at breakfast. She's like all in when she was pregnant with Gino. And speaking of Devin. Gino. It's Gino month. In case you didn't know, April is autism month. [00:47:44] Speaker B: I didn't Know that. [00:47:45] Speaker A: So that's why the lanyard will be on for the entire month. And so we're out there to support friends and family and others that are on the spectrum and especially those who care for them in the month of April and Autism Month. And So Devin was McDonald's fountain, soda, Coke. [00:48:05] Speaker B: Of course, that's the Pizza Pizza Hut. [00:48:08] Speaker A: And Sour Patch Kids. [00:48:11] Speaker B: Yeah, she is. [00:48:12] Speaker A: So any exposure to Gina. You understand what this came from? But. So that's what April brings for us. But that's the whole fountain in Pizza. [00:48:21] Speaker B: Sour Patch Kids the other day, and I don't know if they're joking around, but apparently they had a. An Instagram post or some post where they said that they were taking the sour out of Sour Patch Kids because someone complained that they weren't sour enough. [00:48:33] Speaker A: You sure it wasn't today? [00:48:34] Speaker B: And they were like, no, I don't know. [00:48:35] Speaker A: I can't. [00:48:37] Speaker B: I don't know. I think I saw it, like, over the weekend, and I was like, they better be joking. I can't just call them Patch Kids. They're sour Patch Kids whether they're sour or not. Because occasionally, like, they weren't always sour. But you got one. You got one in the handful that you took that was enough to make your face go. [00:48:53] Speaker A: Would you guys think that's where we're going to video? That's where we're going to video. [00:48:57] Speaker B: Well, like, everyone knows that experience, like, closing your eyes because it's so sour. You got to get through it mentally. [00:49:02] Speaker A: Yep. [00:49:03] Speaker B: Like. Like hot ones anyways. Hot ones. That's. Wow. Yeah, you don't see those much anymore. Hot ones. [00:49:11] Speaker A: So you want the. You want the weight throwback. I've got a place. It was part. It was part of the Hudson Valley trip. Oh, we've got Saratoga Candy Company. We've got Sam's. We got. Yeah, we had a bunch of places. So we covered. Good news. [00:49:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:49:26] Speaker A: So now I have the great freaking news. [00:49:29] Speaker B: Okay, just don't say the F word. [00:49:31] Speaker A: I said great freaking news because I spelled it out, which I texted to you today with. With basically the biggest dud of a response as I could possibly hope for out of my co star or co host. [00:49:43] Speaker B: Oh, about May 4th. I was on my way to court in the morning. What were you. I was trying to get the court. I was running late. [00:49:50] Speaker A: I got you before your date for coverage. Not an appearance ticket for you. But I know you were working. But that's why I said, I know you're at court. But we have confirmed that May 4th one of the greatest days every year on the calendar will also be the Daily Gazette day at the New York Phoenix, May 4th. It's a Sunday game, 3pm versus the Connecticut Crusaders. Basically. I'm calling it newsy night. [00:50:19] Speaker B: Newsy will be there. [00:50:21] Speaker A: Newsy will be there. With Phoenix, with Singe. With Singe. With Singe. So excited. So excited. The Gazette in Schenectady with the Phoenix, the partnership, the mascots. It's. It's going to be golden. It's going to be on fire. Nothing. [00:50:42] Speaker B: Nope. That was. That one's been done, Stan. [00:50:45] Speaker A: I know it's been done, but when you do it, it's like, oh, on fire. Okay. [00:50:49] Speaker B: Cuz I don't know if you've read the fine print pun right there. Haha. I'm allowed to do things like that. [00:50:57] Speaker A: So, Shen? [00:50:59] Speaker B: Yes, Dan? [00:51:00] Speaker A: Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near? Just like me, they long to be close to you. [00:51:10] Speaker B: I don't know. After last week's podcast, though, I don't have a big reputation. [00:51:15] Speaker A: We both got a big reputation. So for those of you carry on this week, please sing. Sing a song. Sing out loud. [00:51:25] Speaker B: Also reminders to not judge anybody for the songs. [00:51:28] Speaker A: Sing out strong. Sing of good things, not bad. Sing of happy, not sad. And that's it for this week. [00:51:39] Speaker B: All right, goodbye everybody. [00:51:41] Speaker A: We got her saying it on our own now. There's growth.
